Illinois Department of Public Health selects ISS to enhance its Dairy Automation System 

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) has chosen ISS to enhance its world class Dairy Automation System with upgrades to wireless and other planned improvements, using ISS for programming, maintenance, and support. The Dairy Automation System was developed to automate mandated inspection and enforcement activities of all programs in the Division of Food, Drugs and Dairies (FDD). This long term contract will provide the State with the ability to continue to deliver state-of-the-art function to vital areas requiring inspection outside of FDD. Current plans include an upgrade to use wireless devices, planned expansion of iINSPECT™ to other inspection areas within the State and improved integration for reporting from labs throughout the State.

ISS began providing IT project outsourcing service to the State of Illinois , Department of Public Health in 1993. Since then, ISS has become a primary sole source vendor for IDPH in multiple areas of Public Health automation. Concerning food, drugs and dairies inspection automation, ISS was contracted in 2003 to design, develop and deliver a state-of-the-art web-based inspection automation system to help improve the inspection process, quality, coverage, reliability, and regulatory compliance within the Illinois Dairy production industry. ISS used its comprehensive web-based Inspection Automation "Framework" solution, iINSPECT™.                                     .

iINSPECT™ streamlines the capture of inspection data of regulated entities and insures quality evaluation and adherence to dynamic compliance rules. Using iINSPECT™, this large, complex project was completed in 18 months, on-time and within budget.
